3D Printing Classes

San Diego Model Railroad Museum Centennial Railway Garden
This has been my best and most impressive 3D Printing project yet. It has been featured on multiple websites and recognized by museum and park committee members as an impressive use of modern technology for a centennial celebration.
I was introduced to the San Diego Model Railroad Museum via the San Diego Makers Guild. It has been a wonderful experience ever since. |
Cognionics inc.
I was fortunate enough to be employed by Cognionics inc. at the same time that a few 3d printing web sites ran with an article about us. I was quoted, speaking of what type of material we use.

tube clamp
At the end of my last semester, in CAD Drafting, our final projects were turned into the 2014 San Diego County Fair in Del Mar.
I found this Tube Clamp to be very captivating and decided to reverse engineer it. Using only a caliper and Solidworks I was able to produce beautiful renderings. I was awarded 1st place and Best in Class. I was also awarded a certificate of recognition from the California State Senate. |
plastic no. 5 bicycle fender
In April 2012, Make Magazine and Schick teamed up and announced Project Remake. The contest was simple; repurpose something that is destined for the dump. The contest was judged by their staff and the top five finalists would win a Makerbot Replicator 3D Printer.
I deliberated on what would strike these judges and put me above the rest. I settled on a salvaged jelly bean container converted to a bicycle fender. I was selected as a finalist and have been 3D printing ever since. |
3d printed earbud cord button clip
With the intent of entering into another contest on-line, I produced a step by step instruction on how to create a button that will hold your earphone’s cord in place.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had been featured on Instructables front page. This brought thousands of viewers to my page. Losing the contest was a small disappointment. |
play music from your tree
December of 2012 I wanted to hide my phone in our Christmas tree and play music.
After taking measurements I designed this tree shaped iphone holder. The phone fit perfectly, but unfortunately the whole ornament was too heavy for our poor tree branches. After uploading this to Thingiverse.com, it was featured on their website. It has also been downloaded over two hundred times and seen by thousands. |
